Imaging Services

State-of-the art medical equipment complements the quality care delivered by Holy Rosary Healthcare's highly skilled medical staff. You'll find we've made the process and environment as easy and as comfortable for you as possible. Our imaging services are all offered right here on the Holy Rosary campus for immediate access by our physicians 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

As new diagnostic technology emerges, Holy Rosary stays at the forefront to bring advanced medical care to eastern Montana. Today's advances help improve the speed and efficiency of diagnosing and treating many medical conditions. We offer a broad range of diagnostic tools here at home.

Digital Radiography

Digital radiography at Holy Rosary provides imaging capabilities that assist physicians in treating aortic aneurysms, peripheral vascular disease (by angiographic technique) and much more. Physicians view images on a computer instead of on film. This eliminates waiting for film to be processed and gives physicians the ability to view results privately and immediately from their office computer or other location. Plus, digital imaging allows physicians to more quickly determine the appropriate follow-up for patient care.

Stereotactic Mammography and Vacuum-assisted Breast Biopsy System

Stereotactic mammography equipment and the vacuum-assisted stereotactic and ultrasound breast biopsy system provide a minimally invasive alternative to surgery, helping reduce the expense and recovery time associated with surgical breast biopsies. Using the stereotactic mammography device, the radiologist is directed by dual images angled to precisely locate a suspicious area and help guide the instrument for extraction using the vacuum-assisted system for pinpoint accuracy. This system helps the radiologist determine exactly how deep to make the incision to remove the abnormal tissue. Less tissue is extracted with this procedure, which means less scarring for patients.

Dual-Detector Nuclear Camera

The dual-detector nuclear camera provides higher quality images and cuts scanning time by nearly 50 percent. This means greater comfort and a more favorable experience for the patient.

The dual-detector allows for three-dimensional imaging, which means a higher level of accuracy in diagnosis. Nuclear scans have numerous applications, including the detection of cancer (both primary tumors and metastases) in various organs, evaluation of heart function, diagnosis of gallbladder disease, pulmonary embolism (blood clot in the lungs) and gastrointestinal bleeding. Since the field of diagnostic imaging is changing quickly, Holy Rosary continues to update technology and acquire new equipment to ensure physicians and patients have access to advanced services.

Bone Densitometry Test

Osteoporosis is often called the "silent disease." There are rarely signs until a significant amount of bone has been lost. A medical test, such as a bone densitometer, that measures the amount of bone is the best way to detect osteoporosis. At Holy Rosary, our bone densitometry test aids physicians in diagnosis and treatment of the disease.

A bone densitometry test compares your bone mineral density (BMD) to that of a "young adult" at peak bone strength. It also compares your results to people of your same age, called "age-matched." This information, along with other factors, helps physicians gauge your risk of osteoporotic fracture. Knowing your fracture risk can help your physician recommend a number of preventative steps, including exercise, changes in diet, hormone therapy, or other medicines known to build strength.

Three-dimensional Ultrasound

A step up from the traditional two-dimensional technology, three-dimensional ultrasound provides a clearer picture for sonographers to identify potential problems.
