Our Community

Holy Rosary Healthcare is eastern Montana’s health care destination. Holy Rosary operates a comprehensive acute care hospital, physician-based clinics, an extended care living community, and hospice and palliative care program – providing a complete continuum of care in eastern Montana. Holy Rosary reaches far beyond Miles City and Custer County, serving people from an 11-county area. Holy Rosary is the region’s largest private employer. It offers exceptional professional opportunities in a family-centered community set in an outdoor adventure paradise, where new stories begin every day.

Holy Rosary Healthcare has a century-long commitment to the people of eastern Montana. Our legacy began Aug. 15, 1910, when the Presentation Sisters assumed management and later purchased the County Hospital in Miles City, renaming it Holy Rosary Hospital. Through the years, the hospital continued to grow and evolve. In 1995, a modern health facility was built on a unifi ed campus with total health care services available in a single location.

SCL Health became the sole owner in 1997, purchasing Holy Rosary Healthcare as an integral part of a growing, faith-based, nonprofi t health care system. SCL Health was established 150 years ago by the Sisters of Charity of Leavenworth, and today operates eight hospitals, four safety net clinics, one children's mental health treatment center and more than 100 ambulatory centers in three states. Other Montana care sites within SCL Health are St. Vincent Healthcare in Billings and St. James Healthcare in Butte. For more information, visit http://www.sclhealthsystem.org/.

As a care site of SCL Health, Holy Rosary has direct access to best practices in health care delivery, resources, technology, talent and strategic capital. Together, the physicians, providers, associates and volunteers of Holy Rosary Healthcare extend God's healing love in the tradition of the Presentation Sisters and the Sisters of Charity of Leavenworth, and our own rich history of providing care in eastern Montana.
