Eastern Montana’s first-ever Day of Dance for Cardiovascular Health was a flaming success! The event, held Sunday, February 18, was sponsored by Holy Rosary Healthcare, Spirit of Women, and Studio M Dance Company of Miles City. Over 450 people attended the event that featured Dancing with the Stars Eastern Montana Style.
The afternoon featured dance performances by 10 celebrity couples from across the region who gave the last 6 weeks of their time to prepare and rehearse. Considering most of the dancers had never danced together before early January 2007, their performances were absolutely amazing! Thanks to our celebrity dancers: Karl Drga & Kristine Harding (Miles City), John Menyhart & Dr. Stefani Hicswa (Miles City), Ryan Jones & Chris Kukowski (Miles City), Travis Zachmann & Terri Bondy (Baker), Tom & Amy Minow (Broadus), Karol & Steve Zachmann (Baker), Dr. David Kaderis & Mila Baker (Miles City), Kevin Kuehn & Sharla Sackman (Terry), Dom & Destanie Rattey (Glendive), and Rob Brugger & Melynda Hould (Miles City). Congratulations to Tom & Amy Minow for being crowned 2007 Day of Dance Champions by our judges and the audience. The voting was incredibly tight… all couples are a perfect 10 in our book!
We have many, many people to thank who were directly responsible for Day of Dance success! Mila Baker from Studio M Dance Company partnered with us, provided the dance floor, performed as one of our celebrity dancers, and recruited several dancers to provide the free dance lessons… Kara Phillips with On the Move Photography took all our wonderful photos… Our friends at Fallon Medical Complex lined up the bus to bring the Baker fan club to enjoy the event… and Deb Mooer and Dawson Community College brought the bus from Glendive full of dance and heart-health fanatics and provided the wonderful “Dance your way to Fitness” presentation… Sharlene Wallace with Lia Sophia Jewelry outfitted the dancers with accessories… Deb Schwarz from Terry provided the heart-healthy cooking show and food for the audience… LaDonna Jimison and the two tapping groups from LaDonna’s School of Dance in Glendive for the magnificent performances… Angela Bundy, PA & Dr. David Kaderis for speaking on the importance of heart health… Wally DeLuca, PA, Catherine Woods, Marla Prell & Scott Anderson for the great job as our judges… Vaughn Zenko of Baker was tremendous behind the microphone as our master of ceremonies… the cloggers from Studio M provided a great clogging lesson for everyone… Samar Devies and friends were inspiring and entertaining with their belly dance lessons… and to the HRH laboratory employees and the many volunteers who committed their time and talents to make it all happen.
