Donors Give Record $100,000 at HRH Foundation TREASURES
Record attendance of over 450 people at the Holy Rosary Healthcare Foundation's TREASURES charity event last Saturday, June 11, raised a record $100,000 in net proceeds for the HRH Foundation's Eastern Montana Children's Healthcare Project.
"What an incredible evening it was with such a prominent spirit of community and pride," said HRH Foundation Executive Director Jackie Muri, CGPA, MSL. "What our donors have just made possible through their support of our children's healthcare project will directly impact the fabric of our community. Our children, families, community, and future will all benefit, and we are most appreciative."
The evening boasted a spirited Mardi Gras theme and included valet parking, complimentary guest photos, and a formal five-cour se gourmet dinner prepared by three renowned Louisiana chefs and served by 40 waiters from the Montana Rib & Chop House. The audience-interactive dueling piano entertainment featuring Jeff and Rhiannon from Noteworthy Productions of Seattle featured an Elvis impersonator contest, birthday serenade, and a 500-person chorus utilizing the event guests as active participants.
One of the most touching aspects of the evening included the stories and introductions of three eastern Montana families - the Natali & Ben Murnion family from Jordan, L'Dene & Scott McAvoy family from Miles City, and Mary & Jamie Hutton family from Baker - whose children are alive and thriving today for many reasons including the quality care they have each received at Holy Rosary Healthcare. Gwen Wacker, event planning chair and HRH board member, commented, "The local families' stories put a living and breathing face on what we're trying to accomplish with our children's healthcare project and why it matters for all of us in eastern Montana."
The very lively and entertaining charity auction included live, silent, and online bidding on over 70 items donated by local, statewide, and national donors. The auction was a significant part of the evening's success bringing in over $73,000 including an infamous haircut for local Miles City resident and event attendee Steve Muggli who received a challenge to get his haircut by Miles City Motor Supply owner and event supporter Miles Gaub. Gaub made the challenge and pledged $500 for the haircut and dozens of others chipped in for a total of $8,600... likely the most expensive haircut every received in Montana.
Dena Lang of Miles City won the $4,200 diamond and ruby tennis bracelet from John Stockhill Jewelers and Miles City's Annette Herman won the ultimate vacation package for 2 to New Orleans provided by Yellowstone Pathology Institute.
Record attendance at the event was comprised of people from Miles City and outlying communities Baker, Forsyth, Broadus, Ismay, Plevna, Terry, Circle, Kinsey, Brockway, Jordan, Cohagen, Angela, and Volborg, among others. "We were so pleased to have regional attendance for TREASURES this year as our children's project is much larger than just Miles City and will benefit children and families from across eastern Montana," added Holy Rosary Healthcare CEO Ron Webb, MBA, MHA. "The children's program is the perfect compliment to our comprehensive women's health and adult medicine programs. This will enhance the level and scope of care available in eastern Montana."
Photos, event reports, and surveys are available on the Holy Rosary Healthcare Foundation Facebook site at http://www.facebook.com/HRHFoundation. Auction results and related materials are available at the HRH Foundation website: http://www.hrhfoundation.com.
Muri concluded: "We're thrilled that we could share TREASURES with so many people and celebrate the progress that our donors are making happen. Thanks to all who are making a difference for local projects and solutions that matter most right here at home."

Your Guide to Wills & Trusts
On average, a person works more than forty years to accumulate assets and spends ten years conserving what has been earned but does not spend even two hours to plan for distribution of those assets. The chaos that often occurs following the death of a loved one can be burdensome. This burden can be eased, however, through proper planning.
As a service to you, our Foundation has provided Your Guide to Wills & Truststo help you organize your important information to share your planning quickly, easily and comprehensively with your legal and tax advisors. A key element of proper planning is a Will, and in some cases also a Trust. This workbook is designed to encourage you to think about how you want your assets to be distributed at death and assist you in gathering the information your attorney will need to prepare the documents that accomplish your goals.
