Treasures - Saturday, June 12

Miles City, Montana will never be the same after this summer's premiere charity event -- TREASURES, in celebration of Holy Rosary Healthcare's 100-year commitment to eastern Montana.

A dynamic 15-member, community-based committee has been busy for months planning what is shaping up to be the party of the century... literally.  The HRH Foundation's signature philanthropic event each year - TREASURES - is set for Saturday, June 12.

You'll know your set for an unforgettable evening when, upon your arrival, you're whisked into the historic (and completely renovated) Exhibit Hall at the Eastern Montana Fairgrounds as your automobile is valet parked.

When not enjoying the hand-selected red or white wines or having vintage photos taken, you will enjoy an unforgettable culinary experience that includes gourmet food from four select caterers.

What was entertainment like 100 years ago? It most certainly involved a piano.  What it likely didn't include, although you'll be able to experience it here, is an all-request, audience-interactive, absolutely exhilarating dueling piano show.  You've seen dueling pianos in LA, New York, and Vegas.  On June 12, Noteworthy Productions from Seattle will be in Miles City, Montana, for an exclusive show at the Foundation's TREASURES event.  They play Beethoven to Billy Joel, the Big Bopper to the Beatles, Bob Seger to Bon Jovi, and everything in between.  They've even been rehearsing the UofM and MSU fight songs... who knows, they may play your favorite too, with a little persuasion.  Check them out at www.noteworthyproductions.com.  There's a wonderful photo above to give you a feel for the level of entertainment that Jeff and Rhiannon provide.

If this weren't enough, one lucky lady is going to win a gorgeous 1-carat, Past-Present-Future diamond ring from John Stockhill Jewelers.  And someone will be packing their bags for an over-the-top 7-day trip to Maui for two... thanks to our good friends and medical partners, Yellowstone Pathology Institute.

As always, the best charity auction available anywhere will feature a number of fantastic items (family vacations (including a Nickelodeon Orlando Resort Stay & Play package), jewelry, home & landscaping makeovers, private dinners for 10, pro ball game tickets, a $2,000 vehicle enhancement package, and even a pull-out-all-the stops gun package and 3-day guided hunt for four for the hunters in the audience).

Millie & Ken Hom Nursing Scholarship EndowmentMillie and Ken Hom Nursing Scholarship Program

This endowment scholarship program was established in 2005 by Mr. Ken Hom to honor his late wife, Millie, a true pioneer for nursing education.  Each year, a $2500 scholarship is awarded to an individual with eastern Montana ties who is pursuing his/her nursing education.  Any donor who is interested in assisting with nursing scholarships may contribute any size gift to this endowment.  As the endowment grows, the number and size of scholarships will also increase.

Will and Trust Guide PhotoYour Guide to Wills & Trusts

On average, a person works more than forty years to accumulate assets and spends ten years conserving what has been earned but does not spend even two hours to plan for distribution of those assets. The chaos that often occurs following the death of a loved one can be burdensome.  This burden can be eased, however, through proper planning.

As a service to you, our Foundation has provided Your Guide to Wills & Trusts to help you organize your important information to share your planning quickly, easily and comprehensively with your legal and tax advisors.  A key element of proper planning is a Will, and in some cases also a Trust.  This workbook is designed to encourage you to think about how you want your assets to be distributed at death and assist you in gathering the information your attorney will need to prepare the documents that accomplish your goals.

Holy Rosary Healthcare Foundation's 8th Annual Foundation Charity Classic was held Saturday, July 18, at the Miles City Town & Country Club.  It's the region's largest charity golf event with two flights of four-person golf teams and an evening social and dinner open to the public.

As a charity event, 100 percent of all funds raised go to work locally and this year will be used to enhance local access to high-end healthcare services for women living with cancer in eastern Montana.  Individual and business donors and event sponsors generously gave over $22,500 in cash and in-kind gifts to further this local cause.

One hundred eight golfers competed for over $5,000 in team and flag prizes donated from area businesses.  While there have been four hole-in-ones at the Miles City T&C Club so far this year, nobody won the four hole-in-one prizes available at the tournament -- a new car, riding lawn mower, new golf car, and a plasma TV -- from local sponsors Mac's Frontierland, Horizon Implement and Cool Breeze Golf Cars.

Long-Drive Competition

The Aramark $1000 long-drive competition was definitely the day's favorite event with 15 golfers competing for $1000 cash.  Rock Springs' Warren Venable nailed a 300-yard drive beating out several close competitors including Glendive's Jason Kinsey, with a 295-yard drive and Miles City's Jeff Lee at 290 yards.
